BREAKING: PDP members walks out as Senator Omgunwa moves to APC

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Lawmakers have walked out of the Senate during plenary on Wednesday, November 30.

The opposition senators staged the walk out in protest over the defection of Sen. Yale Omogunwa of Ondo South to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It all started when the President of the Senate  Bukola Saraki read a letter from Senator, Omogunwa informing his colleagues in the upper house  that he had moved from the PDP to APC.

As  APC senators welcome Omogunwa with joy, Minority Senate Leader Godswill Akpabio of the PDP raised a point of order to correct what he called insinuations in the letter that PDP is divided.

His submission was followed by shouts from senators on both sides.

Senator Dino Melaye of APC tried to raise a point of order but the senate president ruled him out of order, and so the  argument continued until PDP senators stood up and walked out of the chambers.

Senate wades into The house returned to plenary as Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of Labour Party assumed position of the Minority Leader.

Deputy president of the senate  Ike Ekweremadu accused the president of using a military-style of approach rather the democratic and constitutional way.
